One thing I love to do in the mornings is get up and read the news on the internet. It just seems to start off my day right you know???
Well this morning I was looking around and I see this headline:
'Santa Warned "Ho Ho Ho" Offensive To Women'
Hmmmm... I wonder what this is all about???
As it turns out, all of the Santa's in Sydney Australia are no longer allowed to say the famous words of 'Ho Ho Ho!' because Ho is an American slang word for prostitute and they don't want to offend women.
Are they serious???
But it gets better. Instead of 'Ho Ho Ho' they are being forced to say 'Ha Ha Ha'....
I am going to be sick...
Every kid you know has grown up to his 'Ho Ho Ho' for years and years and years so what gives them the right to change it??? Jackasses...

I heard them talking about this on the radio yesterday when my alarm went off... It is so friggin stupid... All of this political correct-ness has go to stop! LOL.
I hate reading things like it, it only reaffirms my belief that the world is nothing but a screwed up place and not really worth fighting for anymore. (I am convinced that I was born in the wrong century.)
It also pisses me off to no end that people have become so worried about offending someone that now simple childhood things are being taken away to uphold politically correct thinking ...just so disheartening...

Serious note: I have a cousin whose wife (a lawyer) sits on the Australian Broadcast Tribunal panel. These are the people who decide whether or not someone has crossed the line of indecency on Australian radio & TV. They have the power to fine them or order them to trial! Amazing, huh?
I had dinner with her last December and it was horrifying listening to her justify their "we know what's best and therefore we should have MORE censorship" fascist crapola. I told her that the best way to combat "bad", "indecent", or "racist" speech is with MORE speech--not less.
She looked at me like I was from outer space. Scary.

You know, sometimes it is downright embarassing to be an Australian! You are dead right, Ho is not even an Australian slang! We are only imaginative enough to come up with Hooker or Pro. And of course, Lady of The Night, or Working Girl. But Ho? That's something we use to dig up the garden. Nope, I say bring back Santa's Ho Ho Bloody Ho and be done with it!

Yes I am sick of the whole sensitivity about all these traditions, holiday and otherwise. People want to be left alone to their beliefs and traditions, so be it--but leave everyone else alone too.
