I Am A Huge Slacker!!!

Okay, I realize I have been a huge slacker when it comes to blogging lately but I have just let so many things take up my time. Work... Family... Playing... and MySpace. Yes I said it.. MySpace!

I swore I would never do MySpace but as it happens so many friends and family members have pages so I had to create one. My user name is MisguidedChalice for those of you who have accounts. My account is set to private so you would have to send a request and let me approve you. Sorry but I decided to set that one up that way for a multitude of reasons which I will not go into here...

Now I am going to try and balance out the two. This should be interesting to say the least.

Michael and I had a wonderful Birthday!!! We ended up just eating at Red Lobster because of our infatuation and love of Seafood. I swear to God I could eat that stuff for the rest of my life and never grow tired of it.

The other night we attended my youngest sister's 30th Birthday Party. Talk about fun!!! Her husbands family rented out a bar for the night so we had the whole place to ourselves. The picture of Michael and I is from the party. About 40 people came, including my parents which blew me away considering how loud and smokey the place was. They aren't big drinkers and they quit smoking over 20 years ago so I was surprised to see them stay a good 5 hours. And lets not forget the music. No Air Supply was playing so I know my mother wasn't fond of any of it!! **snicker** Here are some pics from the party....

My sister Maggie and her husband Phil.

Maggies Cake... Yes its a Barbie Princess Cake.....

Michael and my sister Cindy

Me and my sisters...

Maggie and myself

My brother-in-law Doug.. He looks a little too comfy in the tiara.

Part of the aftermath. So many many many drinks!!!

Now I have to take a moment to apologize to NV!!! We were invited over to NV's house for a barbeque yesterday and because of my alcohol consumption the night before at the party, I did not make it. Why NV keeps me as a friend I will never know but I am glad she does. And she doesn't even charge me for it. That's right you heard me.. I DO NOT have to PAY her contrary to what anyone thinks! NV.. I am sorry!!! I didn't plan on drinking and being there as long as we did but it happened and I paid the price. Believe me on that one! Just know I love you and I will see you soon! I promise!!!

As for everything else in our lives, well, they are quite good. I still love Michael to death. My son has switched schools and is actually appearing to be having a good year. That makes me happy since he was having a rough go of it this time last year. It's kind of funny because he has my science teacher from 25+ years ago. And to think she remembers who I am. She told my son I was an excellent Science Student??!!! I can't say I remember that. After all, she is the teacher who put myself and another girl in her coat closet for talking in class too much!! **snicker** Can you believe that? I was actually in the closet.. LITERALLY!!! Too damn funny!! But I came out and I even passed her class so I guess it wasn't all that bad!

Okay I promise to be a better blogger... I won't post everyday but I will do my best to do a weekly post! Life is so busy anymore its hard to make the time.

Take care everyone and I hope you have a truly Fantabulous Day!

xoxo

Thank you for coming into my life and making all that much brighter :)

Now let's have a drink and get naked!!! **snicker**

Saturday

Just gotta Vent a little...

Today I am drained. Today I am mentally and physically exhausted. Today I am.....

Have you ever had to just sit and silently deal with an illness while feeling completely helpless and useless?

This past week has been a little rough on my Michael and today is no exception. A few nights ago Michael became extremely sick for several hours. He got over it a day later but this morning he awoke with that same feeling of weakness and nausea. We had to work this morning so we got up, left and made the 40 minute trek. About 45 minutes after we got there he became incredibly sick and began vomiting again. This bout continued until just a few minutes ago. So we had another round of 4 hours of nothing but getting sick.

All I could do was sit back, watch, hold his hand, run my fingers through his hair and get him anything he needed.

I hate that.... I hate it SO much....

This morning was tough because every time he gets sick it scares me tremendously. Normally, I handle it really well. I take care of him and I do it because I love him dearly. But this morning, I broke down. I seriously broke down and cried.

It's hard watching him go through this knowing there is nothing that I can do to magically make it go away or even take it on myself so he doesn't have to deal with it anymore. Of course he would tell you himself he would never wish this disease upon even his worst enemy, but I would still take away his pain if I could. His poor body has been raked over the coals for years and in all honesty, its truly taking its toll. Don't get me wrong, Michael is in very good shape for someone living with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. But this disease has really done a number on him.

Diabetic Neuropathy.... Nerve Damage.... I think this is the worst part of the disease. Just from watching Michael over the last few months I truly believe this is what makes his condition so unbearable. Diabetes causes severe complications with the nerve receptors in the body making it difficult to cope with everyday things whether it be loud noises, having too many people around or just being able to sense if his blood sugar levels are too high or too low.

You see, when he gets sick....HE REALLY GETS SICK!!! The vomiting is almost always very violent and uncontrollable for several hours and this morning was no exception. I can deal with watching him get sick and cleaning up after it all but what got to me this morning was simply wondering why this has to happen to him.

It's unfair. It's so completely unfair. He is such a wonderful man and he doesn't deserve this. I know, no one does but I guess when it hits so close to home that Diabetes becomes something so much more than just a word or an illness. It's very real and it's very scary. It's debilitating. It's life changing. It's inconvenient. It's terminal. To be very blunt, it's a slow painful death. And that is something he will tell you himself.

I want to make it very well known that Michael is truly the strongest person I have ever known, not only physically but mentally as well. And when I see him get sick it kills me inside as it does him. Michael does not ever like to feel or appear weak because that is not who he is but this fucking disease drains him. It exhausts him. It takes from him and that is what hurts the most.

I hate this disease but at the same time, it is a part of him. It makes him who he is and that is just a spectacular human being who looks at life as we all should. All Michael wants out of his life is happiness and love and nothing more. As long as he wakes every day and takes a breath he knows he has accomplished something monumental and that is being able to live.

Michael is my hero and my personal guardian angel. I have never loved anyone as much as I love him and I never will. How we ever came sweeping into each others lives I will never know and honestly I don't care. It happened and that is all that matters. We love each other and we are happy. That is what life is all about.

My love for you is a journey;
Starting at forever,
And ending at never.

I realize this is long winded but today I just needed to vent. I needed to just get it all out because this disease of his takes it toll on all of us and if I kept it all in he would kick me for it. He always says that if you need to vent then do it because keeping it in does no one any good at all. He is right. He is so right.

Tuesday

I WANT..... And I LOVE.....

I was sitting around yesterday looking at my bedroom and it just looks so plain. You see since moving I really don't have much on my walls and believe it or not I use to really not care about that stuff. Maybe I should rephrase that a bit, I didn't care too much about items hanging on my bedroom walls but the rest of the house I always had things up.

Anyway, my bed is black metal and I love it sooooo much. It's dark and pretty all at the same time. Well my mother had bought me these 2 small wrought iron Candelabra's and I am going to hang them in the room but they are rather small so yesterday I started thinking about how wonderful the internet is and how I could probably find something I would really love to hang right over my bed...

So now I am in love.... OH My GOD!!! There are only 2 things I would do differently and that is there would be more black in these items and secondly, they would actually hold tealight candles instead of lights. Oh yeah, there is one more thing.. I would NOT make them $450!!!! YIKES!!! I guess I need to put my skills I actually learned from taking a year of shop class to work (yes I actually took shop class and even made things out of wrought iron.....I know...Surprising right???)

Now I do realize that by posting this stuff my total girly side is coming out. Wait! Or is it my age.... UGHHHHHH......

Anyway, Michael thinks he is now going to go broke from me wanting stuff like this... Geez, what a whiner! *snicker*

Regardless, those are fucking awesome :)

Now I was at BarDouble's Blog and she listed a few things she loves so I thought I would just take a second to list a few things I just love to pieces...

  • Sitting near the ocean or lake at night when the moon is out and reflecting off the water.
  • Walking in the rain with my face upwards smiling.
  • The smell of clean clothes when they come out of the dryer.
  • The sound of thunder crashing during a storm.
  • Singing loudly to one of my favorite love songs while driving in my car.
  • Being hugged up on the couch next to Michael while watching a movie.
  • The way 600 thread count sheets feel when you first put them on the bed after coming out of the dryer. SOOOOO SOFT!
  • The way Michael looks at me every single day.
  • Drifting off in a good book.
  • My son's laughter.
  • The changing leaves during Autumn.
  • MY Life :)
And what is it that you love...???

Sunday

A Long Winded Post

Okay so I am a complete slacker! Here I go and post my 5 questions and get a couple of you who want questions and what do I do? I go and disappear....again....! I know I completely suck! I have no good excuse other than the fact I am exhausted and the motivation to write just disappeared. Plus we have a million things going on.

Where to start??? Well today I am excited and nervous all at the same time. Michael's kids are coming into town today with his parents. This is the first time I will meet them and I am just a little bit nervous. Why? I really don't know because from everything I have ever been told they are pretty much little "Michael Clones". Here is a picture Michael posted on his blog last year of him and his son's so you can see exactly how much they look like their father.

My son is overly excited about them coming to stay for awhile. He likes the prospect of having 2 younger brothers. He has already made all of these plans for the 3 of them! We are going swimming and to Worlds of Fun and Here and There... It's incredibly cute! We are going to have alot of fun together so I can't wait for them to get here tonight.

Michael and I have been working like mad-dogs. He ended up basically kicking everyone all over the place at work as far as getting a bonus. How much he will actually end up with I don't know but the managers at work have dubbed him 'Money Mike'. It cracks me up :) As for me, well I got a bonus last month but no where even close this month. It happens..... Hopefully next month we will both take home the big bucks!

Tuesday night we went to Harrahs and gorged ourselves on All-You-Can-Eat Alaskan King Crab Legs. This has got to be one of the best foods in the world besides lobster. Then again, if it came out of the ocean I am pretty much game at eating it. So the 3 of us sat there in the restaurant for almost a good 2 hours doing nothing but eating. Afterwards, the 3 of us were so stuffed we could hardly walk and our stomachs hurt so much I thought I was seriously going to explode..... But what do you do when it's $22.00 per person to eat at this buffet??? That's right you stuff yourself exactly the way we did.

Last weekend I had such a good time! I got to watch my new nephew Paul. Michael and I had a blast sitting around with a 3 month old. It brought back so many memories....

Now I would like to say something to Varsity Jock. You know when I was going through my questions and answers I left out my blog buddy VJ! VJ... Can you forgive me? Huh? Do you wanna come to my little Island to hang out and party??? And I never did tag him either so I would like to take this moment to post a few questions for Mr. VJ so he can consider himself tagged and that way he will feel all warm and fuzzy and stuff inside :) **snicker** So here you go VJ.... HAVE FUN CUZ YOU ARE TAGGED!!!

  1. You have been given a million dollars to throw an enormous party. Who would you invite? Where would it be? Would you have bands there and if so who?
  2. Tell us all about your craziest Rugby story. I know how good you are now I want to know the craziest thing that has ever happened while you were playing.
  3. I want to know about your dream vacation. Where would it be and what would you do while on it?
  4. If you could be like any Celebrity in the world who would it be and why? And as a little bonus question, if you were allowed the opportunity to date any Celebrity who would it be and why?
  5. If there was one thing about yourself that you could change what would it be and why?
Now I must move on to Aunt Jackie and Scarlett! I am sorry it took me so long to get your questions so I apologize! Because it took me so long, as a punishment for my neglect, you can come up with a few mind-benders for me if you would like. Here are your questions:

  1. If you could have your choice of a dream job what would it be and why?
  2. You are given 1 million dollars to plan a Bloggers get-together. Tell us where, when and what your party is all about.
  3. You can choose bloggers to spend 6 months locked in a house with. Who would these people be? Why would you choose them and what kind of place would this house be?
  4. Tell us the most scared you have ever been in your life and what scared you so badly.
  5. If you could change one thing about your life what would it be and why?
So there you go.... Now I think I am actually out of little things to talk about. Sorry if I disappeared AGAIN.... Just know I may be scarce this week but its because we have alot going on this week but we will post some pics of all the fun later...

XOXOXO

Just a Really Incredibly Fun Day

It's been awhile since we have gone out, with no plan of doing anything at all and had a really good time.

So around 3:30 yesterday I had planned on going grocery shopping at a couple of different stores and that was it. Well in turn we ended up driving all over town with the camera snapping pictures and we had a wonderful time.

My son tried to get out of going with us, but Michael and I drug him along.... and much to his surprise, he had a ton of fun. The only thing everyone needs to know about Michael is simply this, no matter what he is doing he makes sure it is the best time he could ever possibly have. He lives by the rule that life is too short to not make the most of everything you do. Always laugh and always smile.... And now that my son and myself are seeing this everyday, its nice to just let go of all of the rules and have a good time.

The best thing about driving around with no plan and a camera is you really see some incredible things.

The first place we went to was the Chinatown Food Market by the City Market area of downtown.

I love going to this place. You see the craziest and coolest items. Not to mention that everything is fairly cheaply priced for the amount you get. I ended up buying some crawfish which ended up with us having a huge crawfish boil last night. Talk about some damn good food. I love food that lets you get messy so this was perfect... I also ended up buying some LoMein Noodles and meat filled Dumplings... Damn I love this food....

However, its just fun walking around and looking at all of the imported items and then heading to the back of the store where they have the live seafood. My son couldn't decide whether to be really grossed out by everything he saw or just be in complete awe... It was hilarious...

After leaving there we drove around for awhile. We saw everything from graffiti and murals on buildings to a Ferrari that my son is convinced shall one day be his.

We ended up down at Crown Center and Union Station. My son had not been there in years so we went everywhere. First it was into the Crayola Store where we played with some colors and made some pictures....

We ended up in everything from stores with nothing but model trains, to toy stores and candy stores.

Then we left and wandered through the sky walk tunnels. My son was in a world of his own and I loved it. He has been stuck in a world that is filled with a computer, a telephone and tons of girls calling my house. This was good for him... He got out and saw the world and loved it...

Did I mention that Michael likes to pick up on hot chicks in my presence???

***SNICKERING***
Pickin' up on Cardboard Chicks....

Now back to the post at hand....

Opening your eyes and looking at the world around you is a good thing. It can make you appreciate what you have and give you a yearning for the things you don't have. It can make you realize how good you have it and how lucky you are to have the people in your life that you do have. It makes you thankful to simply wake up each and every day and just breathe....

We had a truly great time yesterday and these pictures here are only a sampling of it all. My life is a good one. Yes its filled with chaos and craziness from time to time, but hey... I smile, I laugh and I love..... It's all good :)

Thursday

Hey? What You Know Good?

Okay... I know I have been gone... I have been off doing all sorts of things and have neglected my blog and I'm sorry! Blogger please forgive me! I did not mean to push you to the side and not update regularly as I should!

Life has been busy!

but...

Life has also been a mixed bag of craziness, frustration and excitement... but its all good :)

Michael and I are going through quite a bit these days. Some of it good. Some of it not-so-good. However, he and I are closer than we have ever been so I will just sum everything up by saying all-in-all, life is wonderful and its only getting better!

My new work hours are good for me. I am not getting home until late and after sitting at a computer all day long the last thing I ever think about doing is getting on this thing and typing. Yes, this blog has always been the best stress relief but my new job actually takes care of alot of that for me so anymore, I come home happy as hell. And then all I wanna do is spend my time with Michael. Did I mention I love this man?? **snicker**

Thankfully, I haven't missed out on any of my shows because he records them for me.

American Idol is about to piss me off.. Sanjaya?? Why is this little boy still on this show?? That's it, I'm nauseous...

I heard a commercial last night for one of my sinful indulgences... Big Brother... Its going on its 8th season and is wanting people to audition. I am trying to talk Michael into doing it. He would be so much fun to watch on tv.... Besides he is a little off-kilter....wait....back up... he is crazy and would fit right on in with the madness which is Big Brother :)

Okay I just wanted to update you guys a little bit but I ended off talking gibberish. **sigh** Everyone, thank you for stopping by and checking in on me... It made me smile :)

I will be back this weekend. Probably do some of the webcam stuff... Im kinda missin' it...

xoxoxoxo
Chal..

Saturday

Why Do They Grow Up So Damn Fast...

Maybe its because I hate watching my son grow up so fast..

Maybe its because I don't want to know what is going on in his 13 year old mind..

I don't know...

But tonight I have heard more about self-discovery than I really want to know about...

FUCK...

Why does my son take 30 minute showers??

Why does he spend all of his time talking to girls on the phone???

Why is he obsessed with boobies???

YIKES....

I feel like I am going crazy here..

So what happened?

I am sitting here trying to read a few blogs and do some commenting but its a little hard when I have Blu talking about my son doing a little "getting to know himself". I'm sorry.. I know its truly a natural thing but being his mother I just don't want to hear about it. I am not naive. I know he is probably loving himself in more ways than one but I really don't want to know about it. I don't want to hear about it and I don't want to think about it.

Is that wrong?

NO!!!

I am thankful, however, he has someone in his life he can go to and talk about this stuff with. That alone is very comforting... especially knowing this kind of subject is something he would never in a million years come to me with and even if he did, I don't know how in the world I would even begin to help him with it. Its no secret, boys are different than girls so giving him a girls perspective on things would be of no help at all what-so-ever. So Thank GOD for Michael because without him my son would probably be a complete and total mess... And I mean mess literally here.. GROSSSSSSSS... BLECHHHHHH... **giggles**

Damn life is so crazy and simple at the same time.. Interesting and complex... **sigh**

Wednesday

A Good Day

I woke up this morning and was tired as hell. I kept waking up in the middle of the night from crazy dreams so I didn't sleep all that much but you know what? I am in a damn good mood today :) It's gonna be a good day... And whoever tries to change that is not going to succeed....

Have a good one everyone!!

I was playing with my camera while getting ready for work and snapped this pic... Do I look happy?

Tuesday

Breakdowns and Back

I cannot lie...

Last week was the hardest time I have had in my recent life. I went through entirely too many emotions and had an over abundance of crazy thoughts racing in this off the wall mind of mine.

But that's all over...

Michael is home...

Now life can get back to what its supposed to be. A week in the hospital on top of a few other things that happened really took a toll on the both of us so now that its all over, he and I can get back to what we do best and that is just being with each other.

I love this man...

I love this man more than I ever thought was humanly possible... I know I have said this before but its amazing how much you really realize something when staring in the face of adversity. When you think there is even the slightest possibility everything will not turn on positively it really makes you re-evaluate a lot in your life.

He always says you have to keep on keepin' on (okay he stole it from Joe Dirt...but whatever) and he is right. Focusing on everything negative does no good. All it does is make you insane, brings you down and makes life, along with everything in it, more difficult.

So I have now made it my mission to do everything I can to remain focused and positive. There was a time when I wouldn't have been able to do it but now that I have someone in my life who sees the beauty in everything its going be that much easier...

I am so thankful...

I am counting my lucky stars....

Michael sent me this and I love it... Check it out... It speaks volumes...

Thursday

Blessed or Cursed...

Am I blessed or am I cursed? Its a question I have battled with myself for quite sometime. I could pretty much go either way on the answer in all honesty but I figured after talking about this crap at work today, why not come home and ask all of my blog readers this one...

Over the years, there is one thing I have noticed about men. And I don't mean any disrespect to you men out there but you all have a complete fetish with a woman's body. Specifically, I am talking about boobies, cha-cha's, fun bags, the twins, lunch, dirty pillows, food-catchers, hooters, massive melons, love humps and whatever else you men love to call them.

I will not lie, I have a fairly nice pair :) Well at least that's what I have been told anyway. And from watching how men tend to talk to me, which is look from my eyes then down to my chest then back to my eyes, I tend to agree with what I have been told.

But you men fail to see what we women must go through carrying these things around. It's not all that easy.

First of all, wearing a bra sucks! The over-the-shoulder boulder holder has got to be the most uncomfortable piece of clothing ever invented and who ever came up with the idea should be taking out and shot. However, I do know it was invented by a woman. What the hell was she thinking? She has got to be into some sort of self-torture. If she were alive today she would have been a member of Opus Dei and would have probably sat around flogging herself just for the fact she was a woman.

Secondly, if you happen to have big ones, they can make your back hurt like there is no tomorrow. And if you don't believe that, try strapping on a fake pair for a few days and see how much you like it! No joke!

Third, if you happen to be a woman who has no breasts at all, you can constantly be mistaken for a 10 year old boy. What fun is that? Then you have to buy bras with padding and be all fake and stuff or subject yourself to surgery just so you have a pair. No fun in that..

Fourth, like I said above, men tend to forget you have a face and focus on your chest. You just wanna look at them and say, "Hello, my eyes are up here and not down there jackass..."

Now there are definitely some good things about having a chest that is fairly well-endowed. It really isn't completely horrible all of the time.... I can't lie and I won't....

Men tend to really pay attention to a woman with a nice set of boobies. You get doors opened up for you pretty much no matter where you go. Sometimes, it can get you free stuff. Anything from a cup of coffee to money. I, myself, have never gotten money but I am just speaking on behalf of friends I know who have gotten such things. The coffee, yeah.... I have gotten it lots of times.

The draw back is that there are many women who forget that it takes more than an excellent set up ta-ta's to keep a man interested. Yeah sure he will love to play with them for awhile but the minute he is done with them and he can't carry on a conversation with you, the fun is all over.

Too many women think they can just run out and get bigger boobies and get the man of their dreams. Its a sad reality. If they only realized from the beginning that having the personality of a wet mop doesn't go well with big big boobies. Nope....they don't go hand in hand at all.

I would like to know from the male point of view here. What is it about a woman with boobs that you love so much? Is is merely because you don't have them or what? Is it boobie Envy? Shit, if you did have them would you even leave your house??? **snicker** I mean I don't have a penis and when I talk to a man I don't sit staring at their crotches when I do it so what gives? And I don't want a penis so I definitely don't suffer from penis envy. Come on boys... help me out here!!! (Besides I don't know how in the hell you walk around with those things anyway..)

This was a debate at work today. And the only guy chiming in with any sort of opinion is a 40 year old virgin (yes he is seriously 40 and a virgin.. no lie) so I figure his opinion really didn't matter all that much...

All right guys.. spill it... I want some truth here...
